Making the resurrection cookies
These are a meringue cookie with walnuts. In the end they are supposed to be empty like Jesus' tomb. We used walnuts instead of pecans.

The Saturday before Easter we invited Resarta's mother Mimoza over to our house from ladies bible study. Because it was our first meeting together we decided to make the cookies for Resarta's class.

Taping the oven shut: sealing the tomb
In fact this recipe is supposed to be used for the evening before and left in the oven overnight. We had made them ahead, but did no tell the kids. The sadness of leaving the cookies is supposed to be like Jesus' friends missing him.

There were 12 egg all with something symbolic:

5-leather whip
6-crown of thorns
7-nails in the shape of a cross
8-dice
9-spear
10-piece of cloth

Michael in the grass
Michael is in the grass by our city park. This is his first time to touch grass. We did get some looks for putting him in the grass, but he loved it. Albanians love flowers, but very few have lawns.
